Common Questions
Everything you need to know about our guided walks through Glendalough's monastic heritage and Wicklow's mountain trails
Our Upper Lake trail is specifically designed for a gentle pace with regular rest stops—most people take about 2-3 hours to complete the 5km loop. The Monastic Heritage walk around the valley floor is even easier, taking around 90 minutes. We're not racing; we're here to enjoy the ruins and the views at a comfortable speed.

Yes, we ask for at least one week's notice so we can arrange the right group size and ensure we have everything prepared. It also helps us match you with others at a similar pace. Get in touch via our contact page to check dates and book your walk.

Our guides are passionate about Glendalough's 6th-century monastic settlement and the miners who worked here in the 18th century. You'll learn the real stories—not just dates—about the round tower, the Celtic crosses, and what daily life was actually like. We answer questions as we go, so you get what you're interested in.
The Monastic Heritage walk on the valley floor is nearly flat and works well for people with mobility concerns. We can also suggest shorter sections or arrange private tours tailored to your needs. Chat with us on our contact page about what works best for you.
